Component Separation Course

AST5420 – Cosmological component separation

The Institute of Theoretical Astrophysics will each fall give a course in cosmological component separation, with a particular emphasis of Bayesian analysis of the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB). The course is intended for Master and PhD students and corresponds to 5 ECTS credits, but is also open for interested postdocs and researchers that do not need credits. This year’s lecturers include Belen Barreiro, Hans Kristian Eriksen, Brandon Hensley, Elina Keihänen and Ingunn Wehus, with additional presentations from Ranajoy Banerji, Mathew Galloway, Ata Karakci and Monica Mocanu. The preliminary course schedule can be found here:

The course is sponsored by the Global Component Separation Network, which will cover all travel costs for students and staff associated with network nodes. The course is also open for anyone interested that can fund their own travel, the course itself is free of charge.
